All over the island people are doing their part to cut energy use on April 22nd. Some of the more bizarre acts include politicians being vegetarian for a day and a department store offering discounts to customers who eat at the food court with environmentally friendly reusable chopsticks! Even Taipei 101 had special lighting for the day which emphasized the need to keep global temperature increase to under 2°C.

how is eating vegetarian food saving energy?

I think it takes more energy to process meat.
